Dream Walkin---- Toby Keith

Okay, something different. :D

She left a yellow rose and a long neck bottle
On a table beside my bed
With a short little note that said I had a good time
It was written in lipstick red
She didn't sign her name I wonder
If that a little secret that she keeps
Ooo... she's walkin' around in my sleep

Dream walkin', pillow talkin'
She's callin' my name again
Day's breakin' I ain't wakin' up, I'm sleepin' in
I'm on a roll now, I gotta know how this dream ends

She took my new sunglasses and my old jean jacket
And she never even bothered to ask
You could say I haven't seen her since late last summer
But every night she comes back
Just like smoke through the keyhole
She slips in so silently
Ooo... she's walkin' around in my sleep

Dream walkin', pillow talkin'
She's callin' my name again
Day's breakin' I ain't wakin' up, I'm sleepin' in
I'm on a roll now I gotta know how this dream ends

Ooo... there's a thin line between dreams and memories
I'll be losin' my mind 'till she comes back to me

Dream walkin', pillow talkin'
She's callin' my name again
Day's breakin I ain't wakin' up, I'm sleepin' in
I'm on a roll now I gotta know how this dream ends
I'm on a roll now I gotta know how this dream ends
I'm on a roll now I gotta know how this dream ends

She's walkin' around in my sleep
She's walkin' around in my sleep

analysis:

This song is one of the best songs that most would easily relate to if they listen to this artist.

She left a yellow rose and a long neck bottle
On a table beside my bed
With a short little note that said I had a good time
It was written in lipstick red
She didn't sign her name I wonder
If that a little secret that she keeps
Ooo... she's walkin' around in my sleep

Most guys have this situation happen to them. They see something like mentioned in the first and the last 5 lines. A rose in a beer bottle, a note in lipstick without it signed, a secret, and feeling like the girl is walking around in his sleep. Some girls are just that secretive, but in this situation, it could be mistaken for a dream..... It could have been. Some girls would love to cause a "dreamlike" scenario like this but she keeps wondering if she is found. So, she leaves any and all areas that the guy would visit..... Even the place they met.

Dream walkin', pillow talkin'
She's callin' my name again
Day's breakin' I ain't wakin' up, I'm sleepin' in
I'm on a roll now, I gotta know how this dream ends

This verse is basically like: "this dream is too real and I don't want to lose it forever". The lines "Day's breakin' I ain't wakin' up, I'm sleepin' in" "I'm on a roll now, I gotta know how this dream ends". Which is basically like every other dream that is interesting to them. I would be the same if I was in the same dream realm that this verse describes. Most wouldn't want to wake up from a dream like that. And which sane person would want to? I mean, I would love to have this kind of dream but with a guy that I really like.

She took my new sunglasses and my old jean jacket
And she never even bothered to ask
You could say I haven't seen her since late last summer
But every night she comes back
Just like smoke through the keyhole
She slips in so silently
Ooo... she's walkin' around in my sleep

The first line is like the thing that most women do..... taking their new sunglasses and their favorite jacket and on top of that, not bothering to ask to do anything to them, common. After the second line, the comparison between the fog/mist and how she enters his dreams at night is amazing because some girls can actually be closely resembled. Sometimes I could have that "smoke through the keyhole" like silence when I enter a room/exit a room. At times, it's like, a freaky aspect of it all.

This is one of Toby's most entrancing songs. In my mind, he is one of the best male country stars of this century. That's just my opinion.

Until next time,
